Professional Certification
Program
The professional Certified Construction Manager
program is conducted by the APIB and HKIR for both members and nonmembers. It provides
professional recognition to those applicants
possessing the requisite education and/or job
experience and successfully demonstrating their
knowledge and skills.
Procedures to Apply for Certification Examination
Upon determination by an applicant that they are
eligible, the applicant must complete the
Application for Certification Examination
included in this brochure and forward it to:

The fee for the assessment is $500.00 payable at
the time the completed application is submitted.
Of this amount $500.00 is refundable should an
applicant withdraw their application prior to the
date of the assessment, or fail to meet the
eligibility requirements to take the assessment
as determined by the Institute Certification
Committee.
Certification Committee Review
Upon receipt of an application to take the
assessment, the Certification Committee will
determine whether an applicant qualifies under
the provisions of one of the options listed. The
decision by the Committee will be final. If an
applicant is not qualified to take the
assessment, the application and $500.00 of the
fee will be returned with an explanation by the
Committee of its action. An applicant may
resubmit their application at any time with
additional information for reconsideration.
Notification of Assessment
Results
Within sixty days after an applicant takes the
assessment they will be notified of the results
in writing by the Director of Certification.
Successful applicants will be issued certificates
in accordance with the applicants request.
Unsuccessful applicants may resubmit after twelve
months.
Certificates will be issued in THREE
catergories:

• Certified Property Manager
(CPM)
• Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
• Certified Building &
Construction Manager (CBCM)

| The fee for issuing a certificate is
$1000. There is no annual fee and no need
for renewal. |
